Today our congratulations go to Kristie Bennett on passing her test this morning at Cowley Road in Cambridge! Kristie managed to overcome her test nerves and delivered a cool drive to impress her examiner 🚗🎉 thank you for being such a pleasure to teach, for being such a delight in our EARLY weekend lessons! Joe was off to get the insurance on his car upgraded to show his new status as a full licence holder✅ & enjoy his 1st solo drive!

Now not everything has gone to plan on Amy's road to success... despite of the drama, the tears and the breakdowns you never once gave up and never stopped believing you could achieve! You have come such a long way throughout our emotional journey together, you have been a real gem to teach and even when luck wasn't on you...r side you kept your head and spirits high. I always looked forward to what 'dramatic' story I would hear on your lessons, filling me in on all your life goals and plans. Today's congratulations go to Saffron Tucker on passing her driving test at Cowley Road in Cambridge this afternoon! Saffron has been a pleasure to teach, always with such a positive, can do and never give up attitude. Well well 1st pass of 2016 & what a pass it is!!! Today Jemma moved from trainee to qualified ADI by passing her part 3 instructional test 1st time. We are, as parents, so proud of both our children, however today belongs to Jemma. Well done. ‪#‎1stforfreedom‬  @jemmaoakley26 :)

Sam had ‪#‎personalsuccess‬ in "Frankie" our Mini Cooper.
As you can see "no rest for the wicked", as soon as he got back home on the farm, it was in to his work wear tending the sheep before he can have a solo drive in Ford Ranger.

"When I started learning with Jeff at 1st for freedom I had already taken 3 tests and had a number of lessons with a different instructor. In my first lesson, Jeff explained my driving journey as a brick wall, I had the foundations but there were gaps and knowledge missing that needed filling. Jeff did this for me in a matter of weeks. He built my confidence and taught me to not only pass my test but to drive in a safe and proper manor. He was only a phone call away when I got stressed and has been so helpful and so reassuring. As a person I have experienced many highs & lows in my life & as a parent we have to stand back watch as our children experience those things in there own way.
Today our daughter Jemma, experienced one of those highs!
Jemma who is studying for her part 3 in driving instruction had her 1st student take a test & Emilia taking that test, had her test success with 4 minor faults recorded!
Pride does not explain the feelings I & my wife Carol, have at this moment. To take your knowledge & pass that knowledge on successfully enough for a another person to achieve their own success is a fantastic achievement.
Congratulations to both of you & we hope you both have very many more life achievements

A huge congratulations to Emilia Edwards who successfully passed her driving test today in our manual mini Beyoncé, Tuesday 14th July in bury St Edmunds on her first attempt with only 4 minor marks! Emilia has been a delight to teach and I look forward to seeing her on the road soon! Today we congratulate Danielle Hazard on passing her test in Bury St Edmunds.

Congrats!! Amanda Burnell on passing your driving test with 4 minor faults in Bury St Edmunds today.
Amanda gained her personal "Freedom" in "Lady" our Auto Mini Cooper Clubman.
Although Amanda had taken her test before, this was her 1st with us.
Amanda will be the last person to take her test in "Lady", has she will going into retirement very soon:/ however there is another Mini Cooper Auto to take her place! Name guessing to follow lol:)
But today is not about "Lady" it about Amanda, so once again, well done you, for driving those last few miles to test success like so many others & we look forward to seeing you on the road in "Hue" soon. :)

News Flash! Tina Bryant passes her test today at Cowley Rd Cambridge, on her 1st attempt with 7 minors.
Tina gained her personal Freedom in "Lady" our Auto Mini Cooper Clubman.
Tina was "chuffed" with her test success, knowing now she can drive to her holiday destination.
Now she looking out for her 1st car. Hopefully a Ford Focus!

Today's personal Freedom has been achieved by Layla Gallagher at Cowley Rd!
Layla, who is about 5 weeks away from being a mum for the 1st time, passed 1st time with only 3 minor faults.
The examiner didn't want her to take the speed bumps to quick encase it started anything off! Lol
Layla with so much already to look forward too, is now looking for her 1st car as well!

Esme was so pleased she had over come her own personal fears that she couldn't do it, & I as I had told her, she could! :)

Seasons greetings to all and especially congratulations to George Gilligan on giving himself an early Christmas present of personal Freedom by passing his test at Bury St Edmunds today.
George gained his licence in "Frankie" our Mini Cooper on his second attempt after coming second on his 1st attempt, with 5 minors & a serious, in Cambridge. Although nervous, George proved that if you can drive you can drive anywhere, due to the longer waiting time in Cambridge opted to take it in Bury.
George is looking forward to his 1st solo drive & then looking for a newer car at the weekend to fit his 6'5" frame in!

I always keep an eye out for my former students when I'm out & about after all went through so much together. Laughter & occasionally tears, mind & theirs lol! Well Today I received a bouquet of flowers from a former student, Sarah Critchley, who passed test a year ago on 29/11/13 & an email a couple of days ago letting know how things where going. This what Sarah had to say:-
Hi Jeff
Just dropping you a quick line to see how you & your family are doing?
It's been one whole yea...r now since I passed my test, you'll be pleased to know no accidents, and also I drive quite regularly to Milton Keynes to visit clients. Oh, my insurance just dropped by £600 as well. Bonus!
Shortly after I passed my test I got promoted to be a software developer in the January and this has been going quite well so far. It is nice creating the systems as opposed to breaking them as a tester. I believe driving certainly helped me get this position, and it has really helped my confidence in general.
I still hear you in my head to calm down, don't worry about my past, my future is in front of me.
There are some flowers on the way to your address, I hope you enjoy them!

Jack was off to pick up his new car with his sister, Kylie, shortly from Fords in Bury St Edmunds, which is apparently is a very nice Chelsea blue colour!

Paul will be out looking for a vehicle now to get to his 2nd job as a semi professional Goalkeeper for Corby, so his family won't have to taxi him there & back.

I'm sad to say that shortly "Binkx" & "Gracie" will be retiring, there is a lot of students who are currently learning in these cars &, I believe, those who have already gained their personal Freedom will be sad to see them go. :(
However there is a new Mini Cooper to take their place & here she/he is!
"It" has a name already. You guess it at our facebook page. It is a name that could be use for a boy or girl please don't be rude in giving your answers! There is also another Mini Cooper coming along soon, that will be my daughter's & we will be putting a picture on here shortly.
Well done "Gracie" & "Binkx" for helping our students to go from those 1st tentative car controls to test success. :)

“Jeff is an incredible teacher, who also felt like a friend during the process of learning to drive, which for me was challenging. For medical reasons I had to stop learning to drive for a considerable amount of time.
When I came back to learning my confidence was shot. Jeff taught me in a way which developed my confidence, allowing me realise that it was possible, and that i could do it. I never thought I could pass my driving test, but Jeff has made my driving exceed my expectations so that I am now at a level that I have. And this is more than i ever could have wished for.

“I went with first for freedom because my sister went with them and recommended I go with them.
I found my experience with first for freedom, positive and encouraging. I used to really look forward to my lessons, my instructor gave me the confidence and skills i needed to drive independently and feel safe behind the wheel. My instructor always made sure I was not nervous or unsure about anything and was 100percent happy. I learnt something new every lesson and do not think I could have been taught by anyone better. I would recommend first for freedom as this is where you will gain your confidence and skills to start to become the best driver you can be.”

Ollie who currently is assisting his Dad when needed delivering Combine harvesters! will be looking for his own vehicle to drive.

James's personal Freedom was gained in "Gracie", our Mini Cooper D.
James who currently lives & works in Cambridge, however is originally from Croydon & had a couple of hours training back there, felt that he had learned so much more for having carried out his training in Cambridge & the surrounding area, with driver education also being carried out in Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds & Haverhill.

Mike was off to check out a car which he has already got an insurance quote for & is looking forward to carryout his passplus to watch his insurance get decreased further.

Congratulations today go to Kellie-Marie, on passing her test at Cowley Rd Cambridge.
Kellie over came Friday 13th to gain her personal Freedom in "Gracie", our Mini Cooper D.
Kellie who already as a car, a Mini called "mini moke", was off to sort out her insurance to become fully mobile.
So Kellie, who is originally from Wales & can speak Welsh, we say "iechyd da" & once again well done & we look forward to seeing her on the road soon :)

Today our congratulations go to Jacob, on passing his test in Bury St Edmunds.
Jacob's personal Freedom was gained in "Gracie", our Mini Cooper D.
Jacob's test success was gained with a combination of private driving with his Dad & professional tuition with us, however his success will spell the begining of the end for his Dad taking the car that he co-owns with his sister Megan!
I can see a rota being worked out already! lol

Congratulations to James P, on passing his test today in Bury st Edmunds.
James's Personal Freedom was gained in "Binkx", our Mini Cooper.
James test success will spell the end of his parents having to pick him up on those late nights from the Hundon Plough where he works part time after school!
James, who already has his own car, will be waiting a short time before he gets behind the wheel as he is off for a short break in Spain! enjoy the sun.

Congratulations to Kara, on passing her test today at Cowley Rd, Cambridge.
Kara's personal Freedom was gained in "Gracie", our Mini Cooper D.
Kara's test success will mean she can now be one of the "nominated drivers" in her "square" of friends!
Kara is planning, with help from her Dad, to go looking for her 1st vehicle this weekend. Kara has also sent out a warning that to our other students that they are to look after her "Gracie", & has stated that she will be coming over to have a drive at weekends!

Jake's test success was gained with a combination of private tuition in the "POPE MOBILE"  & professional tuition with us.
Gaining his licence should make his Dad's life a bit easier, as he can now get himself home in the early hours of the morning when he finishes his work as DJ.

Kayleigh has ended her month on a high after also finishing the 1st part of her "A" level exams before the summer one's start & intended to go home relax & share her success with her Mum, chocolate & a few drinks, & I don't mean tea!

The Big man is almost here & for those of you that know me; I mean Father Christmas... Although if I had a white beard, there would be an uncanny resemblance!
Today our congratulations go to Samantha, who passed her test at Chesterton road, Cambridge.
Sam gained her Freedom in "Lady", our Automatic Mini Cooper.
Sam waited some 13 years to drive in the UK having lived abroad for a period of her life & being made to feel that the UK full driving licence was too hard to achieve.
Having recieved a gift voucher for a 1st assessment lesson from her partner Shaun last Christmas, whom she lost in tragic circumstances. Sam decided not only in memory of her late partner, to achive her own personal freedom & today she completed that personal journey.
Yet again well done & we look forward to seeing you on the road soon :)

Fenella's early christmas present to her self was gained in "Gracie", our Mini Cooper D.
Fenella gained her personal Freedom with a combination of our tuition & driving with her parents in her Ford Ka.
Living in a village Fenella's full licence will make getting about a lot easier, no more parent Taxi's!

Lewis is an apprentice mechanic, so passing his test was not only important for personal reasons, but also for his continued education within the motor vehicle industry.

Seasons greetings to everyone! 
Congratulations must go to Derek on passing his driving test at Cowley road Cambridge.
Derek earned his early Christmas present, of personal Freedom, in "Binkx" our Mini Cooper.
No more last minute phone calls to his parents on wet days for a lift home from work or relying on others to "ferry him" about.
He will be out celebrating tonight, with his girlfriend, Poppy, enjoying a large steak at her  expense.

Early Christmas shoppers didn't put Blaine off of his test (Saturday).
Blaine gained his personal Freedom in "Binkx" our Mini Cooper.
Blaine was off to look on Autotrader for a vehicle to get around in, no more "Taxi runs" for his parents to get him to work at the Hundon plough!

Well at least Halloween wasn't a scarey affair for Gavin!
Gavin gets our congratulations on passing his test at Chesterton road, Cambridge.

This what Gavin had to say:-
“Hi I am Gavin I lost my driving licence within 2 years of driving due to the 6 point ban. So I have recently taken driving lessons with Jeff Oakley I chose him over my old driving instructor due to the fact I heard very good things about him. Through him I passed my test again. I found that he adapted his teaching methods to my way of learning. The whole experience was very good I was worried I was going to be judged by any instructor that decided to take me on but he was not judgemental about why I got the points. He was very good when it come to my test day I was worried that I would be judged by the examiner but he re-assured me that it would all be ok and it was.”

Sophie started driving in February this year carrying out a combination of driver education  with us & also private practice in her family car.

Congratulation must go to Mathu on passing her driving test at Chesterton Rd, Cambridge.
Mathu took her test in "Gracie" our Mini Cooper D.
Mathu who is French but was originally born in Sri lanka, had some experience learning to drive in France, then had to relearn about her road position & junction approachies.
Her test pass is going to help her & husband with their business, now they are not having to rely on others to get things from the cash & carry.

We can honestly say that we are proud of all our clients, that each & every one of them over comes thier own fears & self doubts just to get behind the wheel of a car, let alone complete a personal goal of test success.
However, when Dee passed her test at Cowley rd Cambridge yesterday, she completed a personal journey that started when she was 17, in South London & 5 driving instructors ago. Suffering with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, & having 3 of her other instructors tell her she wouldn't be able to pass a driving test, she persevered & at the age of 33 achieved her personal freedom on her 1st attempt with 4 minor marks.
So well done & congratulations on her achievement.
Dee passed her test in "Lady" our Automatic Mini Cooper & we look forward to seeing you on the road soon.:-)

We would like to congratulate Danielle on passing her driving test in Bury st Edmunds.
Danielle took her test in "Gracie" our Mini cooper D.
Danielle started driving in March this year on her 17th birthday, carrying out a combination of driving with us & her family in her own car.
Although based in Bury St Edmunds, Danielle didn't just drive there, with training excursions to Cambridge, Haverhill, Newmarket & Sudbury a regular theme to get far more rounded driving education.

Congratulations to Tom on passing his test at Chesterton rd, in Binkx our Petrol Mini Cooper. Tom who over came his nerviousness in stressful situitions,had to ask the examiner to repeat himself, when he told him he had passed, as he could believe his ears!
Once again well done. All you need to do now is get your tax & insurance on your Clio & we will seeing you on the road soon!

Well done to Reece for passing his driving test.
Reece took his test at Cowley Rd Cambridge, in "Gracie" our Mini Cooper D after having started to learn in "Lucy" our original training Mini Cooper.
Due to an earlier incident at the Cowley Rd intersection, Reece who had an 08:20 test, had to deal with the fact the traffic lights had been "knocked out". However he didn't let this phase him & continued on to have a successful test.
We look forward to seeing Reece on the road soon.

We would like to congratulate Ryan on passing his driving test  in Binkx.
Ryan had a couple of extra lesson in the week before his test, as due to illness, he had to cancel a couple, however he felt that extra lessons had benifited him on his way to test success.

This what Ryan had to say:-
“I enjoyed learning to drive with first for freedom & looked forward to every lesson. I felt comfortable and felt no pressure what so ever. 100% chose the correct driving school to learn with! Passing my test opened new doors for me; after passing my test, I got more and more into cars. I'm currently studying automotive engineering at college, and have a part time job at a garage! I feel what I learnt during my driving lessons has helped me massively with my college course!"

Jaimi had driven both Gracie the Cooper diesel & Binkx the petrol Cooper,
& after learning the differance between the power deliveries of both 
Jaimi choice for her test day was Binkx the petrol Cooper .

Well done Lucy, Lucy started to learn in Lucy our original training car, just like Toby our last passer.
Lucy must have thought she was jinxed! as she had to put up with her 1st test being cancelled due to the Examiner falling ill and then her 2nd was cancelled due to snow just before Christmas!
